Creating a new u3a website for Banbury
Banbury u3a needed a more modern website that would be easier for members to use and simpler for the webmaster to manage. Their previous site had been built using the u3a Site Builder, but it was difficult to update and did not work particularly well across mobiles and tablets.
We created a new WordPress website with a clearer structure, improved navigation and a responsive layout that works across desktop computers, tablets and smartphones. The content was streamlined and reorganised so visitors can find information about groups, events, membership and branch activities more easily.
Making the website easier to manage
A key part of the u3a website creation project was making sure the new site could be updated by the branch without needing to rely on a web designer for every small change.
We provided bespoke instructional videos showing the webmaster how to edit pages, update content and manage the everyday parts of the website. This makes ongoing website management much more straightforward and also helps if responsibility for the site is passed to a new webmaster in the future.
